Ideal for hitting. They really train good hand-eye coordination and make sure the players have to hit the ball. They're great for warming up before a game when you might not have a large area to work with as the balls don't fly very far. I have purchased 24 of these PowerNet training balls and have used them extensively over the past 6 months. . At first I thought they would last a few seasons but the reality is some fail in less than a season. Many of them lost their shape and deformed. they are not under-inflated. This is a situation where the plastic cover has stretched and you are getting odd shaped balls that are not moving properly. Also, I now have two balloons with leaking valves that won't hold their shape because they won't hold. Air. These weighted balls were hit by 12-14U players, so it seems normal usage to me, and I really don't think they should deform and leak. While I find them to be a great learning tool, I'm quite disappointed that they didn't last very long.
