Half Price AutoZone

Great Value! These are genuine Motorcraft OEM parts. AutoZone wanted over $60 for one, which is half the price. These ignition coils were fitted to my 2010 Ford Fusion I4 2.5LI. I highly recommend replacing them all at once. I had 3 out of 4 failures two weeks apart. The exchange is very easy. 2.5L Duratec: Read all steps carefully before you start. The coils are located in the center of the valve cover. Squeeze the clip at the end of the wire connector on the ignition coil and carefully remove it. gentle turning and pulling movements. Inspect the spark plug cavity. If it is filled with engine oil, remove it with a shop rag. Continue cleaning the area until ALL the oil has been removed. It is recommended to use dielectric grease on the end of the boot that fits over the spark plug. This is to prevent damaging the cover if it needs to be removed later. Insert the new spool and housing and gently twist into place. Be sure to align the mounting hole. Use medium-strength threadlocker on the mounting screw, tighten and torque to 53 lb-in. A medium-strength thread holder prevents the mounting screw from weakening the vibration. Reconnect the wiring harness. Repeat these steps for multiple coils. Cylinder order: 1-2-3-4 passenger side to driver side. Connect battery negative, torque up to 44 in. lbs. Warning: Vehicles with dual climate control are subjected to a self-calibration test when the ignition is first switched on. after reconnecting the battery clamp. Turn on the key (do not start) and wait 3 minutes before using the air conditioner. If the vehicle is not allowed to calibrate itself, hot air will be blown from the passenger side regardless of the temperature settings. In this case, simply disconnect the battery's negative cable and reconnect it after 5 minutes. Be sure to tighten to 44 inch pounds. Plug the OBD2 reader into the car, the connector is in a small compartment just under the steering wheel. Clear the error codes. Disable the OBD2 reader. Start the engine. Make sure the vehicle is idling smoothly and the check engine light goes off after a few seconds. I hope someone finds this useful.
