I was skeptical that the $27 starter would either fit or work, but it did both. I've only used it a few dozen times and it's worked great so far. I'm embarrassed to realize that if you reverse the polarity the starter spins backwards, but the Bendix gear doesn't mesh with the flywheel if you wire it reversed. For a few moments I thought the Bendix was stuck before realizing my mistake. Changed the cable and the starter worked perfectly. I wish I could put one of these starters in each of my little engines!
