Our cats are very good at it! We originally got them because we wanted to take them with us on our daily walks on the beach. Our two 2.2kg kittens fit in well and while they fight us to get into their carrier they don't fight us when we put them there. They seem to enjoy the increased visibility compared to a hard drive. I love that there's a flap so I can reach and comfort them when they're scared (like when the suitcase next to us was buzzing really loud lol). Otherwise they are quiet and REALLY enjoying the view from the car window. They are a bit heavy when I wear them but my friend (pictured) can wear them with no problem. It's a little chunky on my 5ft 1in frame because it's comparatively tall for me, but much lighter on its 6ft frame. We love this business. Our cats sometimes scratch the grille with their claws (we leave it open at home for them to feel comfortable and explore, and they sit on the doors and scratch) and it shows no signs of wear or scuffs. As they get bigger, we'll probably get another one so everyone can have their own.
