I am using this adapter to create a console connection between a Windows 7 laptop USB port and a serial port on several HP network switches. I use putty terminal to manage switches. Other similar adapters I bought from places like Fry's and Best Buy gave me problems - basically the Windows 7 operating system didn't recognize the drivers, no matter what I did I couldn't get the operating system to recognize the drivers. I have now bought 4 replacement adapters because they never gave me the problems I had with other brands of this adapter. This is a great product and at a very competitive price. I will not buy these adapters from any other company. Too bad I didn't find them sooner and I could have saved a few hours trying to get less quality products to work.
