I hate wasting styrofoam or paper cups for coffee and other beverages whenever I want a drink and sometimes there are no cups. So now I always have mine with me. One that won't break if dropped. Since the backpack is always with me, I keep it inside. Nice to have a cup when I need it. I like the low wide profile. It's lightweight and durable. I have several other titanium cups that I use solely for hiking/camping. I didn't want one with folding handles or that big. This mug offers all the durability and weight savings, but with a little more refinement than a standard mug. I don't have to put a bottle inside and can save space on the handle. I consider this mug part of my daily essentials, along with a flashlight, multi-tool and the like. Just nice to be with me. You don't realize how convenient it is until you have it. This mug was perfect for my needs. If you are looking for a camping mug. I respectfully suggest a larger volume, e.g. B. 750 ml. 500 will probably not be enough for the trail. Hope this helps LD
