Life is full of compromises

Of course, wooden stairs look best in their natural state, but my family's safety is paramount. I slid down the third step to the bottom in my socks. My husband insisted that I buy anti-slip strips for the stairs. Googled and bought. I wish I had bought them a little sooner. The day before her arrival, my little daughter also slipped and hit her back on the stairs. Luckily she got away with just a minor bruise, but I felt damn guilty. I'm glad I chose duct tape strips instead of rugs. It doesn't look terrible. I was afraid it would be too rough, like sandpaper. If you wipe with the back of your hand, you can get an abrasion. Otherwise, stepping on it is convenient. You'll have "white dots" aka air bubbles if you have dents or in my case a few protruding nails. It would be nice if there was an extra stripe or two on the packaging for this mess. Otherwise, I'm glad I gave up.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
