I've only hand washed one so can't comment on how well they're holding up yet, but I like their thickness and softness. I reserved one for use on my glasses only. I can't bring myself to use them for really nasty messes, but that's just my opinion. There are some messes that I just want to throw away like dog puke! But they're great for soaking up spills, getting watercolors wet, drying your hands and if they don't fall apart in the washing machine I'll buy them again. Edit: I LOVE these towels! After machine washing, they become softer and even wetter. I wash them in the bag that came with them and they hold up really well. I will order more!
