They were a bit smaller than I expected although I didn't measure so not a defect in the product just to let others know. I bought these to put an outside gate in our yard where we already have padlocks with keys, just a subtle deterrent when I don't need to carry or walk back to the house to get the keys. As mentioned, they are smaller than a regular small castle. I would say it's for luggage situations. I'm guessing you could probably pop one of these out between the shackles with little effort or even a steady grip. Still no stars on these accounts as I should have measured from the description. The stars drop when I have similar problems as other reviewers with a lock not working. *****The instructions are really simple, just remember to look counter-clockwise at the top of the shackle with the "Giverare" label facing you. My problem turned out to be the first lock I tried. I rotated to the default 0000 combination, rotated to 90, pressed 90 and pasted in my new combination. I reversed the order to try to block and it no longer blocks. I repeated the steps to using my new combo to verify and was able to do both 90 degree turns with no issues. Steps changed and still not blocked. Then I found that no matter what numbers I put in as combos, I could do both 90 degree spins, which shouldn't happen if it wasn't the right combo, so something is definitely broken in there. The other 3 worked as intended following the instructions. Not sure if it's worth returning them so I just keep the working 3 for small things around the house and buy a large combination gate padlock sized set.
