Works like a charm! Bought this after our garage got broken into via the side door. In order to make it work, you do have to have the hasp in the closed position, and then close the door (and the ring) into it, rather than try to close the hasp after the door is closed- that's just how physics works. To make it easy, I just used some duct tape to keep the hasp in the right position. I like that when it is closed, all bolts are covered and inaccessible, makes it feel a little more secure.

Easy to install didnt use the screws though that came with it since purpose was for metal so went with a different screw but they looked decent for the price.

I had a very specific situation with a wooden fence gate and this was exactly what I needed. Looks and feels like high-quality hardware.

Superb quality. 304 stainless steel is not supposed to rust, we purchased these items to place on lockers in the open garage of a condominium building 300 yards from the salty Gulf of Mexico. Time will tell, but the overall quality of this item was a nice surprise.

I was unable to find a black hasp at the two hardware stores in our town or at the Home Depot where I usually shop. I think it will be perfect for my use. Note It has two extra screws just in case you drop one while installing.

What makes these reviews somewhat meaningless is that there are two different products here. One is a flat swing over hasp, meant to fit for example two doors that are side to side, the other product sold here on this same page is a fixed 90 degree bend swing over hasp meant for doors that are 90 degrees to the door molding like a home entrance door.I purchased the 90 degree hasp. Cheap, sturdy enough, includes finished screws . all nice. The finish on the hasp itself is well above the standard I've com to expect from a lot of sources these days. Has tolerated high heat and sun exposure very well.

I bought this hasp for a new door and I wanted it in black to give it a dressier look. I'm very pleased with the product. The packaging was very good and the time frame from order to my door was very quick, which I appreciate. Very sturdy and A great value. Super easy installation. Just the right size for my 10x10 shed. Not too big not too small! The lock’s mechanism can easily become jammed.

The Hasp is good nice and thick steel. Yet the screws are a joke put them in the junk pale and used 1 1/4" so they bite into the wood.

We got this to lock our shed. I used a drill to install the screws and it is pretty sturdy as long as you are not protecting anything overly valuable. I mean, someone could just bring a drill and remove the screws pretty easily and get into the shed, but for our bike and some camping gear in our low-crime neighborhood, it is perfectly acceptable.

The hasp is fine. About what you would expect. Solid feeling. I used it for a set of small shed doors. Two sides of the shed were pre-existing (house wall and fence) and nowhere near square anywhere. That meant a lot of fiddling and the hasp and loop left no room for the screws to be anywhere but right at the edge of the doors. I had to drill the hasp to fit my needs because the tolerance was too tight to work with.

The hasp is well made and very fine-looking. I was impressed with it's quality, but it has limited utility because the movable hasp is not flexible at the 90-degree turn. Yes, I knew this when I purchased it. I had hoped to put on the outside of a garage door, but because it is inflexible, there is no way to mount it such that it works properly. Easy enough to install, but relatively flimsy. I suppose it will ward off the casual thief, but anybody who's highly intent on getting into the protected area, wouldn't have too much of a problem with this thing.
