I just moved into a house where I found some loose hanging lampshades. I tried to tighten them with my fingers but couldn't get hold of the collar ring holding them in place. It's too narrow to fit your fingers in. I figured there must be a tool for that. Did a search and found this tool in various places and ordered it here. Works great! In just a few minutes, all the shades were well tightened. Also good if you need to remove curtains for cleaning or replacing lights. The small end worked for me. I had no problems at all with this tool. Highly recommended.
