It sure works, but I think it could be better designed to work with a real activated carbon filter. Reusable sponge filters still let some dirty water through. Sand sometimes clogs the pipe, but it's very small, maybe 1 grain of sand in 1000 lol. So it's not that bad. Overall, it basically gets the job done. I have a small tank so I'll leave that.
