I bought this after reading a few quilt blogs about how great it was at "showing exactly where to stitch". The problem is that the laser beam is very FAR and you can't be exact even if you try. From what I've read I assumed it would be a tiny light line to be more precise. I'm guessing it's a slight 1/4, maybe even 3/8 inch wide, which defeats the purpose. I didn't buy it for carpentry to be honest and it's probably fine for that, but it's not for me. quilt work!
