The lantern itself is very strong and feels like it is high quality. The metal is thick (seen from the screw hole) and they give you a pretty decent wick to begin with. The torch holder looks good on the outside, is sturdy and has a nice sharp metal end that pushes it securely into the ground. Unfortunately there is rust in all pipes (also pictured), but I don't see that as a problem. The only thing I don't like is that the top of the mount (to plug into the burner stand) looks like a cap (no screw). So if you pay attention you can see that she is a bit crooked together. But again I notice it because I put it together. We bought 4 of these to see if we like them and we like them so we're buying 4 more
