is what the Garmin GPS on our truck's dash will consistently achieve, since the trailer itself is 29 feet long, plus a significant fraction of the F150's length, namely .

Bought this just in case I was installing a Garmin backup camera in my caravan. I was skeptical that the signal from the transmitter, which is installed in the closet at the back of our trailer and connected to the 12 volt circuit, would consistently reach the Garmin GPS on our tractor's dash given the trailer itself is 29 feet long is. long plus a good fraction of the length of the F150, which is our driving force. I didn't have to worry. The signal is fine and in fact strong enough for the GPS to start picking up at least a few more car lengths from the trailer. I wouldn't order this before fitting in hindsight, only if the camera isn't sending good data to the GPS unit after trying it - Garmin's range estimates seem conservative and I think chances are a cable won't be needed.
