I would say it's just normal. Serves its purpose, but nothing special. I've used it on freeways at up to 80mph and rocky trails, and towed my 70lb kayak to the lake in a 2-wood wrangler. When loaded, the hardtop creaks and creaks with every bump in the road. In fact, I was afraid that the hard top might tear, but if it didn't happen on the last ride, I don't think it will. I was terrified of overtightening the top and cracking or coming up short and losing the load on the freeway. Assembly was fairly easy; The only difficult part was trying to tighten the front gutter brackets without scratching my hard top. The nut is fairly close to the top and is tight.
