I got this pump but after reading all the reviews I got a little scared. This pump is made of high quality materials and finishes. Works very quietly. Bought for an ice maker for the fridge. Of course once I had everything installed I turned it on to check for leaks and then the pump would not pump or turn on. Nothing has happened. lol. After looking through many troubleshooting posts I found that the REFRIGERATOR MUST BE COOL ENOUGH TO START SENDING A SIGNAL TO THE SOLENOID VALVE AND THEN THE WATER PUMP WILL TURN ON THE PUMP FOR 4 or 5 seconds to pump water to the supply ice maker. It took about 2 hours to start pumping as my fridge was warm from all this setup. This pump comes with everything you need to set it up. The kit includes 4 silicone tips to reduce vibration. But it's so quiet and fast turning on and off that it doesn't work automatically now. TO UPDATE. AFTER 3 months of use, the pump started sucking air out of nowhere. I checked for possible air leaks and found none. Cut the two sides of the 1/4 tube cleanly. Right now, every time the pump pumps water into the ice maker, I have to prime the pump to get the air out. This machine is defective. I wouldn't recommend update: I had to buy a new cheaper version of Revain and it's been working ever since. New: BOTTLE WATER SYSTEM - FILTERED WATER SUPPLY SYSTEM WITH A WATER INLET FOR DOMESTIC USE, USA SOLID PRODUCT.
