Just to add to everyone else's report, mine just arrived on 1st December 2018, rectangular, made of nice thick metal, with strong magnetic attraction. The underside is nicely sanded with some polish on top and the numbers are neatly engraved. As mentioned elsewhere, there are superficial scratches on the metal finish that would likely have occurred over several months of normal in-store use (at least for me). I wonder if they were all stored in one barrel during the packaging process? These scratches are so light that they don't bother me at all. Mine had no rust. As with all new tools, I started with a light coat of 3-in-1 oil to forestall this.
