Just to add to everyone else's report, mine just arrived on 1st December 2018, rectangular, made of nice thick metal, with strong magnetic attraction. The underside is nicely sanded with some polish on top and the numbers are neatly engraved. Overall I think this is a nice little square. It feels like a very difficult task. Compared to my Swanson Speed Square, that's for sure. Either both are perfect, or both don't work. I bought this 4 inch magnetic square for my new Dewalt DWE7491 table saw to check that the blade was at a 90 degree angle to the table. Unfortunately, Dewalt doesn't believe in cast iron or even steel table saw blades. I can still test the blade for accuracy, the square just has nothing to stick to. I don't have any other precision squares to measure accuracy with so I bought that first. But I agree with another review here that says it looks like it's been rolling in the toolbox for a year. I unwrapped the "brand new" square and it was covered in dust and oil. But of the two still more egregious defects was the first. Visible oxidation so I assume it won't last very long. Ordered this micro square from Revain. When I received it I noticed I was having trouble setting the lathe to 90 degrees. I tested it and found that it's not exactly square. I contacted customer service through the FastCap website. They contacted me the next day and sent a replacement free of charge. The new one is better, but not perfect.
