I had been reading reviews of large belt sanders for about a year when I finally decided on this one. I've been using an old and worn out cheap dust bag rip brand for a few years and decided I really needed a new and more powerful grinder to quickly remove material and level the subfloor. This device was well packaged. and arrived on time and undamaged. I took it out and made sure it worked before putting it on the shelf for a couple of weeks while waiting for my first workout. When I was finally ready to use it, I bought 50 grit tapes and began removing the taped backing pieces on the subfloor for a renovation project. This machine went through everything I threw at it and handled 50 grit bands with ease. Dust collection is amazing compared to what I've used before and with regular emptying most of the dust went where it belonged. I was a little skeptical about the dust bag and how it closes when it arrived but that didn't turn out to be a problem. The pouch is sealed with a piece of plastic that slides through the opening and at first I thought it would come loose as I worked. The chord is long enough, and with a motor under 10 amps, you can plug it into most building extension cords. The variable speed control is really handy as I can really dial in the best speed for what I'm grinding to make sure I'm not removing too much material. The tape tracking is easy to set up and I keep it centered for most operations, but if I want to run it squarely against a wall it can quickly be adjusted to the far right and still stays on the machine. I've been using this grinder since late August 2013 and I've probably spent 10-15 hours with it already. The longest I've had was about half an hour straight (there's a trigger lock to keep it going), and not once did the motor look like it would stall or run out of power. Overall I am very happy with this purchase and I hope that it will accompany me for many years to come.
