Review on 🧢 Lacis Yarn Counter with Clamp: Simplify Your Yarn Measuring Experience by Carol Miller

Revainrating 3 out of 5

I really wanted to love this product and I do. sometimes

Recently a co-worker gave me a ton of yarn but it was a bunch of random skeins with no labels and even an estimated yardage. When I saw this I immediately thought I had found the answer to my prayers and ordered it. It had no instructions when I received it, but it seemed pretty self-explanatory; Thread the longing through the hooks, through the slot, into the spool and start counting. . Let me preface the next section by saying that most of the yarns I've received have a weight of 4 or more (for those of you who work with yarn, this makes sense). At first it seemed to work and I loved it! However, the enthusiasm quickly evaporated for two main reasons. An absolute gnashing of teeth, nails on a slate, a screech coming out from under the counter when you turn faster than 3 meters per minute, which is SLOW. The second thing I noticed is that if you didn't have the yarn sitting exactly in the slot track, it wouldn't count the yarn as it went through and it was very difficult for me to keep it where the Counter wanted the yarn I think I can get this product to work for me, but I have to do a little fiddling on my part to get the counter to work. I had very high expectations but they didn't match the reality of the product and the price I paid for it. I will use it and I think it has some value. I would only suggest noise canceling headphones like those intended for machine shop use. . .

Pros
  • Package Height: 3.5 in; Package Length: 3.25 inch; Package Width: 5.75 inches
Cons
  • The packaging is ugly
