I am comparing this to my 8 year old Saeco Aroma which unfortunately was not sold anywhere else about 4 years ago. At around the same price, the Saeco has a significantly higher steam output and a very well thought-out porto filter, which conjures up a perfect crema on every cup of espresso from day one and for 8 years (!). I was looking for a second car as a backup. This one is inferior in every way. It's sweet, that's all: it takes longer to preheat, it can't make a crema that stays creamy with espresso, the Panarello for frothing milk is lame and therefore frothing and heating is excruciatingly slow. The preparation of a consistently good, hot and delicious espresso takes time and detours. My old Saeco coffee maker still works and I still use it 2-3 times a day. He doesn't owe me anything at the moment, great thing! I tried to buy a refurbished Saeco Aroma but they're almost extinct so I'm descaling mine and hoping it lasts a few more years. This particular DeLonghi car is a soulless plastic creature. Keep searching.
