I used these primarily for shredding chicken for carnitas tacos. So the chicken was well cooked and ready for slicing. I can say they definitely work better/faster than using two forks (especially with a plate of chicken), but the downside is that my wrists and arms get tired quickly. When I ate 5 pounds of cooked chicken breast, my forearms felt tired and my wrists hurt a little. To be honest, it took a lot less time to toss all the meat in the blender (but admittedly it didn't look that cool). I'll admit that I (obviously) don't have much upper body strength. Best of all was the "coolness" factor from my family/guests watching me tear up cooked meat like a Wolverine character. I'm not sure if that would be my method of chopping meat when cooking for the family, but you can bet I'll bring them out when we have guests!
