I was looking for something specifically to prevent scale build up and prolong the life of my new boiler/water heater. I did a lot of research on these types of electric "scale removers" and was almost ready to buy a much more expensive unit until I decided to dig a little deeper and found this brand at Revain. This company actually did a scientific study showing that the product works and they included the study in the manual. After a few days I noticed that the water was much softer on my skin. I also use a shower head filter and now the water that comes out of the faucets is very similar to the water that comes out of a filtered shower head. So I knew right away that this product worked. As others have said, all of our soaps/shampoos/conditioners definitely produce a lot more lather. Not sure why, but it's another sign the product is making a difference. If anything changes I will update this review. My only complaint, which isn't the product's fault, is that it can be painful to unravel and wrap the wire around the pipe. You should measure the thickness of the pipe and follow the chart for how many inches of wire you put in, then wrap the pipe twice. The wire kept getting tangled which was very annoying. The piping straight from my water meter runs vertically, so I'm sure that made things a bit more difficult. I am now recommending this product to all my family and friends. I would buy this again without hesitation.
