Review on Dritz 3009 Quilting Pins, 1-3/4-Inch, Yellow (500-Count) - Premium Sewing Accessories for Quilters and Crafters by Kim Sanchez

These pins are blunt and not smooth.

These needles are so blunt that they are difficult to pierce through plain cotton fabric used to make face masks. I had to throw away a lot of them because they didn't go through the fabric and warped. Passing the lace through the fabric is your first problem. Once the point is passed, it doesn't get any better. You have to fight to get those needles through the fabric from the start. I bought these pens because I have some that I bought years ago and have never had a problem with them. I don't think I've had to throw one away because it bent. I have used them a lot. They are still as sharp as the day I bought them. I know it's not the fabric because if I replace the needle that's giving me trouble with one of the old needles, it just slips through the fabric. I can tell the difference between old and new pins because the ball is darker on the old pins. I don't know what has changed, but the quality of these cones has deteriorated. If I had known that, I would not have ordered them. If shipping hadn't cost almost as much as buying, I would have sent them back. I will definitely not buy Dritz products again. They used to embody quality, I can't say that's the case now.
