I have a peeler/slicer but I needed something that would only peel apples. This little gadget is amazing: insert the pins into the bottom of an apple, turn the handle and the apples will be peeled in seconds. Press the button and the apple will detach from the pins and be easier to remove. You have a perfectly peeled apple and a long skin that doesn't cut into the apple too much. The razor is very sharp, but I don't see that it can be replaced (which is a shame because then it will just be junk). However, I suspect that this will continue for a very, very long time.
