I'm so tired of firewood sellers telling me their wood is twine and that it's well seasoned. now that they appear and it's obvious that the weight to pick it up can't be a string. I show them my lot marked with fence posts and tell them before I give them the money that we will pile it up. If the amount is right I'll pay double, if it's not enough leave it and go. Under protest that they don't have time, they haven't received my $ yet. Now with this device, if someone tells me the wood has aged for 8.9 years or whatever, I'll make the same bet. We check 20 pieces and average the water content. You should do a little research or have some experience as different types of wood have different values and you will want to split the log to get the true value. Still, it's fun to watch a scammer peddle.
