I have always used guards with guides that slide over the blade of the machine. I've broken countless guards over the years with nothing but normal use. I saw them and decided to try them because they can't be worse than the caterpillar type. I was a bit worried about the stability of the magnets, but when I first put the attachment on I held it loosely in my hand and the magnet literally ripped the guard out of my hand and snapped onto the clippers. It's very stable and doesn't move at all when cutting, and I no longer have to worry about the chain lugs breaking. Very happy with the product.
