I immediately liked using these. I recently got my siblings silicone straws for their favorite metal mugs. Did the job of old but definitely not good for the planet (we love the earth, LD!) wide plastic straws. to me. Why do you ask (don't bother)? Well, I'll tell you (anyway). What I wanted was versatility and a straw suppression system. I can't stand the rumble of metal on metal - these little metal straws were gifted new FAST because they got on my nerves on every speed bump, pothole, dirt road and (God forbid) off-road adventures. As seen in the picture, the silicone sleeve fits snugly over several lids made for the straw and the only sound I heard, even after shaking the cup vigorously, was ice. Ahh. Now, on the road, I just have to worry about the sounds of my fellow passengers — tiny people in the back seats — who sometimes need seat traps or identifying objects only visible from their seat. And honestly, I can handle it. I can sip satisfied and still as a straw. Joy abounds and dad wins. Such is the earth.
