UPDATE: After leaving my original Revain review, this pitcher BROKEN when I stirred the ice in an already cold liquid with a plastic spoon . (A 1/2" piece of glass flew off next to one of the decorative protrusions in the design.) I requested a response via the Hiware website about the 2 year warranty over 2 weeks ago and have received no response. . Tried to send an email as suggested by Hiware in response to my review, received an email undeliverable error. SEVERAL ATTEMPTS to contact the manufacturer to claim the promised 2 year warranty have failed. ORIGINAL REVIEW I wouldn't call this heavy glass jar what I prefer. It's quite light, thinner than I expected, about the same as an ordinary drinking glass. I will not test its ability to withstand hot water. The silicone ring on the stainless steel lid is a bit loose and doesn't "seal" the jug's mouth at all; Although almost full, it will leak if tipped too far. Otherwise, it works great as a drink container, the handle is comfortable and well balanced, and glass is always better than plastic in almost all cases. Aspect. And it looks nice too. Enough "style" to make it interesting. I'll be keeping it because I need a jar that will easily fit on the fridge shelf and I wanted it ASAP, but I will continue to buy something more substantial.
