Review on RISEPRO Thermocouple Thermometer Channel ๐ŸŒก๏ธ 200 for Measuring Temperatures up to 1372ยฐC by Mike Roe

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Wow, is it that hot (or cold)?

Wow! 860 degrees Fahrenheit when using the self-cleaning cycle of our Frigidaire Professional gas stove. (According to an undocumented Google search, the maximum cleaning cycle temperature should be 900 degrees. Note: I used a $10 K-type thermocouple, purchased separately with alligator clips, to perform this test.) I give this 4 stars Instructions aren't detailed enough to be helpful, readings take time to stabilize and are somewhat inconsistent. But for the price and the results below, I'm happy with my purchase. The 4 included thermocouples appear to be able to read a normal oven temperature, say 350 degrees Fahrenheit, or go straight into the freezer. They show that the water in Denver boils at about 202 degrees Fahrenheit, while the icy water is about 32 degrees Fahrenheit. While this combination cannot compete with Fluke gauges, it seems respectable and useful for a quick check of our outdoor gas grill or indoor oven. This addition to the digital thermometer allows it to be mounted inside an oven or gas grill and offers a higher maximum exposure temperature. Other standard findings confirmed that adjacent cabinets remained safely cool when the doors were left open. I've found that the readings seem to be affected by several factors including: the ambient temperature of the entire cable, the total time the thermometer has been on. ", as well as the effect of turning the thermometer on and off.
