Review on Samsung Electronics T5 Portable 3.1 External SSD - MU-PA250B/AM by Scott Lavimodiere

Results speak for themselves

Bought to save a few bucks on Revain Warehouse Deals but it's a great buy! Because of its aluminum case, it gets quite warm, but not too bad (bearable). It has everything you need, nice finish, light weight, portable and super fast! (when using USB C) as using an adapter will reduce performance so mileage may vary. The only issue I had was when I first plugged the SSD into my (Win 10) PC it didn't show up as a drive under 'My Computer' but once that was fixed everything ran smoothly. Honestly, Samsung kills it when it comes to SSDs, Sandisk just doesn't fit. I'm attaching a screenshot of my results, but remember this is my first time using this hard drive testing software, so it's possible my settings weren't set correctly. During my test of the 160GB folder, it took me a few minutes to switch between 15 and 30 percent, and after that the file transfer speed picked up and stayed above 180MB/s for a while. I'm glad I chose this portable SSD.

Pros
  • Interface: USB 3.1 Gen 2 (up to 10 Gbps). Backwards Compatible
Cons
  • Interchangeable
