I'm a big fan of Samsung SSDs. I use it with T3. My only complaint is that you can't run two drives on the same laptop at the same time with password protection, especially for redundant backups. The software wants to overwrite an existing installation. They work if one is password protected and the other is not. This may be ok if you keep "Floppy 2" in a safe. But if you want both to be mobile, then one of them isn't safe. Samsung. Please update the software to use two hard drives for backup…

Don't buy this, use a competitor's SSD

I ordered one of these in January for use in my computer labs. The drive stopped working in March. I contacted Samsung and went through the process to submit it for review. The process was slow because my maintenance request wasn't initially approved. Once approved I had to box it up and ship it using the UPS prepaid label that was sent to me. The device was defective and they sent me a new SSD. Was replaced with a refurbished SSD. I called Samsung and they told me there was an error in my…

Cons
  • You could have gone for a newer model

Samsung's new portable SSD uses some new technology, but performance is similar to its previous (and excellent) T3 drive. The T5 is one of the first consumer products to feature the new 3D NAND technology, in which the chip is laid out vertically to allow greater storage density in small form factors. It also has a faster USB interface than the previous version. What does this mean for the average user? A little. The reality of this drive is that it's close to last year's drive. That's not bad…

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Results speak for themselves

Bought to save a few bucks on Revain Warehouse Deals but it's a great buy! Because of its aluminum case, it gets quite warm, but not too bad (bearable). It has everything you need, nice finish, light weight, portable and super fast! (when using USB C) as using an adapter will reduce performance so mileage may vary. The only issue I had was when I first plugged the SSD into my (Win 10) PC it didn't show up as a drive under 'My Computer' but once that was fixed everything ran smoothly. Honestly…

Bought for Xbox One with Destiny 2 in mind - Super fast game loading!

A friend of mine recently bought a Seagate 2TB external hard drive for his Xbox One and told me how much faster it loads games now. He plays Battlefield and Destiny and says he loads the maps first almost every time. If you've played Destiny, then you know that load times suck when you go into orbit almost anywhere, and Battlefield maps can take a while at times, so using an external hard drive to cut that time is greatly appreciated. I bought this SSD with Destiny 2 in mind, confident that…
