Review on Samsung Electronics T5 Portable 3.1 External SSD - MU-PA250B/AM by Jacob Fish

Don't buy this, use a competitor's SSD

I ordered one of these in January for use in my computer labs. The drive stopped working in March. I contacted Samsung and went through the process to submit it for review. The process was slow because my maintenance request wasn't initially approved. Once approved I had to box it up and ship it using the UPS prepaid label that was sent to me. The device was defective and they sent me a new SSD. Was replaced with a refurbished SSD. I called Samsung and they told me there was an error in my records comparing the date of manufacture to the date of purchase. The Samsung warranty is valid for a refurbished product for 90 days after purchase. I was told to send the refurbished one back so they could send a new SSD. The process took a few weeks. I got my new SSD and it also failed in May. I called Samsung again and went through the process. The drive was defective and they sent me a refurbished SSD again. I called Samasung again. This time I was told that it has been over 90 days since purchase and the refurbished exchange is their warranty. So basically I had every new SSD less than 2 months before it failed. I would not recommend this product to anyone.
