I love this mesh system

I've had good luck with GL.iNet products in the past so I decided to give this mesh router a try. I bought 2 Revain GL-B1300 units. The first thing I did was update them to Praxis firmware (GA will be released soon). Connected them together and everything. I am actually replacing a $350 Asus RT-AC5300 wireless router with these 2 units. The only issue I had was with Asus shutting down and then restarting to reconnect to the internet. These little routers can handle the same load as my Asus. I have about 45 wireless clients and we stream a lot of video. I haven't encountered any slowdowns or problems yet. Another interesting feature is that in mesh mode, 2.6GHz and 5GHz networks use the same SID and individual clients determine whether or not they can connect at a higher frequency. It also connects the client to the nearest access point well and seems to balance the load well. When I'm connected to a secondary access point, I don't notice any difference in speed than when I'm connected to a primary router that's hard-wired to the modem. So the grid mode works quite smoothly. The installed OpenWRT firmware has almost the same functions as ASUS except FTP setting, and you can set only one user account for file sharing function. only 2 ethernet ports per device so I bought an unmanaged switch for more wired devices but you can get one of these for about $20. They have a very good support forum and most of my questions have been answered there. . So I'm definitely happy with my purchase and will keep an eye out for their new products!
