At first I was very pleased that this allowed me to use my 30" Apple Cinema Display (A1083) with my new MacBook Air. annoying, for example my Macbook sometimes forgot ( maybe once a week) after sleeping that the ACD was on the left instead of the right and/or the resolution on the ACD reset to low. I just went back to the display settings in system settings and fixed it. I am not sure if this is a hardware or software issue. In any case, the video quality at high resolution was good enough for my purposes and I enjoyed plenty of screen real estate. About 100 days after this adapter was shipped, it stopped working There is no video in the ACD I have confirmed that the ACD is still working by upgrading my old MacBook with a mini displayport adaptor r connected to it. Both USB-C ports on my new macbook air work tight. Obviously the adapter is the problem. It claims to have a 2 year warranty so I contacted the manufacturer and hope they replace it with something that will last longer. UPDATE: The company sent me a replacement through Revain Prime. I am very satisfied with the excellent customer service.
