Perfect fit for Apple Cinema Display 30 inch.

Seems to be quite well built and is working well so far. Since it's only been a few weeks, I can't comment on durability. A true active dual link DVI adapter. Ideal for connecting my Thunderbolt 3 equipped Windows laptop to a 30" Apple Cinema display. Works instantly @2560x1600 60Hz! No complaints yet.

  • Excellent overall performance

Works with Apple M1 Mac Mini and 30 " Cinema Display

I bought this adapter to connect my M1 (Apple Silicon) Mac Mini to my old but beautiful 30" Apple Cinema Monitor. Had to hold down the Option key when clicking the "Scale" button in the display settings (as detailed in the product description and reviews) to select full resolution, but works great. The login window is low resolution but switches to full resolution when logging in. There were also some issues with the monitor waking up after it was put to sleep, but resetting the NVRAM seemed to

SUCCESS! 23 " Apple Cinema Display > 2020 iMac 27 "

I have purchased several adapters and returned them with no success, but this adapter works great. My favorite 23" Cinema HD display now works as expected with my 2020 27" Retina 5K iMac. No other adapters or connectors required - just turn off your computer, plug in your display's power cord and connect it to this adapter, then turn on your computer to watch your old display light up like a miracle. According to other reviewers, you need to hold down the Option key while activating the "Scale"

Fits older Apple Cinema HD displays

I've tried at least four other competing DVI-USB-C adapters and none of them have helped connecting an old (2005) Apple Cinema HD display to a new one a MacBook. Either they gave intermittent signals, or they gave no signal at all. This product worked immediately and without interruption. I connected the display's DVI output to this adapter, plugged the adapter's USB-C into my laptop, and the display immediately woke up, showing the desktop and dock, and the cursor. Everything works correctly…

  • Security

I used to use a daisy chain set of dongles to connect new Macs to my lovely old Apple 30 " Get Cinema to work with the correct resolution: Mac --> USB-C to Mini DP --> Mini DP to Dual DVI Link --> Monitor. It worked fine for a while, but eventually the adapter in the middle stopped working. Then I saw this, read about the trick to get the Mac to use the correct resolution, and bought this. This works very well, but red and green flickering artifacts *sometimes* appear when darker…

Died after 100 days but great customer service

At first I was very pleased that this allowed me to use my 30" Apple Cinema Display (A1083) with my new MacBook Air. annoying, for example my Macbook sometimes forgot ( maybe once a week) after sleeping that the ACD was on the left instead of the right and/or the resolution on the ACD reset to low. I just went back to the display settings in system settings and fixed it. I am not sure if this is a hardware or software issue. In any case, the video quality at high resolution was good enough for…

Works with 3D Vision

Honestly this is a good product. I tried an active dual link display port on DVI-D and it was terrible. Unreliable at best, and syncing has been disabled. I tried two DVI-D monitors with 3D Vision at 120Hz and 144Hz and both worked fine. I will say that initially the monitor takes more time to "sync/set up" but once it has stabilized it works great. So I would set up the 3D Fix Manager to start non-3D stereo and then turn it on manually. It was better. I hope this is good news for gamers who…

Did the job for my 2008 30 " Apple Cinema Display

. Works as described to get full 2560 x 1600 but works good. I'm not a gamer so can't give frame rate etc. but I love my 30" Apple Theater displays (yes I have two) and that has kept them useful for a few more years.
