You can push his button but he will turn you on!

As a professional electrician, I see tons of new gadgets hanging in hardware store aisles that usually turn out to be better ideas than actual products. The trend these days seems to include so many "features" that the original tool is unrecognizable and now does nineteen bad things instead of one good thing. It turns out there are more naive-eyed DIYers than merchants. Marketing chaos! Greenlee took a detour around Dumbeville and got a lot of things right with that little gauge - fewer. It's small, but the display isn't. The display is also bright enough for most outdoor situations. Beautifully crafted from textured plastic that doesn't look or feel too cheap. Low input impedance (good). as well as manually). Solid continuity feature (personally, the lack of such a feature can become a hindrance). Non-contact or single voltage sensor with voltage detector (very nice bonus). It's actually easy to use, not another device that promises simplicity. and then turns out to be a little less complex than the Space Shuttle. Impressively well-executed manual. Surprisingly, a pretty good zipped cordura case with a pocket to protect the display and velcro straps for the test leads (which themselves have a smart rubber pad attached to them). to pick up the ends of the probe - to avoid damage to the body). Automatic shutdown. Limited lifetime warranty (think spare wires). Cons / Cons: Display - no backlight / could be brighter. No current measurement (as expected). Permanent, essential, sometimes too short test leads (although they offer some voltage reduction and don't feel particularly fragile). (3 minutes) automatic shutdown. Without folding, the operating instructions will not fit in the case. This is a multilingual manual, therefore unused parts may be removed. To recap, it's hard to remember the last time I was so pleasantly surprised by a $40 device. Good job, Greenlee.
