I don't have a car, I live in New York. However, I needed something like a reliable leak guard for my blender to trap various residues, including wet ones, and not seep through and damage my furniture or hardwood floor. I've only had it 2 days but I liked it so much I'm forced to write this review/first impression. Not only is it easy to clean and water resistant, it also looks very stylish for a bin. And when it's empty, it closes exactly on any background. I have it on the side of the ottoman, but you can even attach it to the fridge or sink for nearby wet garbage collection. You don't have to worry about drips when you put wet waste in the bin. Perfect for wet waste and any occasions when you need a waste disposal close by and still look good.
