I bought this for a trip to Europe and wanted to save space. I didn't want to go 2 weeks without a curling iron. It's dual voltage, which means it works in European countries, you just need an adapter. My hair is long, mid-shoulder blade length, and it took a little getting used to. It worked but I'm sorry I didn't bring my full size curling iron (which also has dual voltage) as it took longer and required more patience. Luckily I only had to use it after washing my hair to get rid of the frizz which was maybe 5 times. I can see this is perfect for short hair.
