Review on 💻 Vantec USB 3.0 SATA IDE Adapter ISA225 by Nick Henning

I gave my old USB 2.0 hard drive adapter to a good friend who needed it. I've had it for many years and it's always worked great. So I searched for an updated product that would suit my needs. I found a Vantec SATA/IDE TO USB 3.0 adapter (CB-ISA225-U3) and got it here through Revain. It arrived as expected and I've already put it to work. First let me tell you what's in the box. That wasn't clear to me at all on the product page. First, it's the USB adapter itself and a short SATA cable, about 4 inches long. In addition, it has a power supply consisting of a socket (120V) and the necessary components to connect either a SATA or a 4-pin modular jack for IDE. In my experience, when connected to a drive, Windows 10 quickly recognized and mounted the partitions on the drive. No additional software or drivers required. Transfers to and from the drive were as fast as if the drive were internal. The adapter has two status LEDs that indicate device activity. The power supply has an on/off switch but no power status indicator. This is the only downside I found with this adapter. Overall I am very satisfied with the device and its packaging/delivery by Revain.
