Review on πŸ” Sky-Watcher 120mm Telescope: Compact f/5 Refractor with Portable Alt-Az Tripod and Wide Field View by Ryan Bowers

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great telescope for beginners and serious beginners

Excellent telescope, collects a lot of light with 120 mm (5"") aperture. At f/5.0 the lens aperture is wide, useful for astrophotography. The focal length is 600mm, which is low for a telescope of this size, but that's why this telescope has such a high aperture. About 8 pounds for the telescope alone (more if you add a tripod) is the telescope for its size fairly light, which is useful if you want to replace the tripod with a motorized equatorial mount. It is also easy to transport. The lens is a duo. A pleth showing some chromatic use of a triplet would drastically increase the cost of the telescope. All in all a great telescope for the money.

Pros
  • Lightweight, durable tripod The included Alt-Az az3 aluminum tripod combines portability and stability Slow motion control in vertical (elevation) and horizontal (azimuth) axes for precise aiming Large accessory tray provides convenient storage for eyepieces and other accessories
Cons
  • Almost everything ok
