Small print and at the very end of the video it is mentioned that you need an "extra" Rode SC7 3.5mm TRS-TRRS connection cable for smartphone recording. The supplied cable is designed for a single lens reflex camera. I completely missed that when ordering, because the video and many photos show the use of a microphone with a smartphone. I deducted a star for that, it's a very good and versatile microphone. There are cheaper versions of the TRS-TRRS cable, but as I later learned the quality suffers when the price drops to half the cost of the Rode version of this cable. In my opinion, this cable should have been one of the two that should have come with the microphone.
