If you're trying to renovate a classic Pegasus shower enclosure from Home Depot, you're reading a review right now. I've spent several hours researching how to buy the diverter valve twice and now I can tell if your Pegasus is like mine, look no further... You will need three components to rebuild this valve; Switch set, cartridge without washer and pressure compensation insert. I enclose this review to each of the Amazon webpages where they are listed. Danze makes two recovery kits and although I tried the Danze retraction kit I had to return it and get a Toto retraction kit. You need three parts: Danze Round Stem Washerless Cartridge DA603567, Danze Pressure Equalization Insert DA507041 and finally Toto THU4131 Switch Kit. Installing these components requires a number of tools that a seasoned handyman may have, although you may need to go to the store to purchase a socket wrench or allen wrench. I used plumber's lube to hold some of the pieces together and make them slide easier. You need some mechanical skills and if you are lucky nothing will go wrong. I put a rag in the gap between the bracket and the hole in the wall so as not to lose a small detail in the wall. I also removed the paneling and watched for signs of leaks for a couple of hours. If you think you can't make it, buy all the parts and hire a reliable plumber to do the installation. This is much more economical than taking the wall apart and buying new hardware and paneling. I've attached a few photos so you can see if your device will fit.
