My item arrived on time and was well packaged. And this item isn't a scary device, but it needs some serious improvement before it's useful to me. First let me give them credit for telling me that a flat bottomed mug would work best as it would make direct contact with the hot plate. Here are my frustrations: 1) I had a hard time finding a mug that was completely flat. Every mug I currently own and every one I've planned to buy has a lip at the bottom as shown in my drawing. Because it is not level, the heating plate only touches the edge, making the plate less efficient. 2) If your mug is not heavy enough, the plate will turn off or not turn back on after you take a sip and put the mug back. You can press the base (not the plate) and turn it back on, but you have to remember that and then it will only stay on when the mug is heavy enough. 3) In my opinion, the plate didn't get warm enough to compensate for the protrusion at the bottom of the mug. The plate is hot enough when your mug is completely flat. Please tell me where I can find something like this if anyone knows.
