These scissors and I think others who like them may say they cut 1/8 inch or thicker, but if that's what you're buying them for I wouldn't recommend them. I used it the other day to cut a 4" x 1/8" flat bar of mild steel. I'm 6ft 220lbs and it wasn't easy from the start. To compound the problem, he placed the curve across the width of the flat bar and right on the edge of the right-going piece. It's ok if it's a fork, but not if you're trying to use it. This may be fine for thin, 22-18ga, etc., but if you're only cutting 1/8" like I do, save your money and find another method. The quality of the tool seems for what You're paying to be the same or better, just stick with thinner stuff, at least mild steel.
