Review on 🔬 AmScope SM-3BZ-80S Binocular Stereo Microscope with WF10x Eyepieces and LED Light Source - 3.5X-90X Magnification, Single-Arm Boom Stand (110V) by Matthew Sutton

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The quality is no worse than optical sights for 1000 dollars

I have been working in the electronics industry for a long time. I've worked for semiconductor companies and leading electronics manufacturers, so I've used quite a few branded oscilloscopes in my time. AmScope performs as well, if not better than some of the more expensive Olympias and Bausch & Lomb. I am very happy with this scope. Note. The base is VERY heavy (about 20 pounds?) which you want as the arrow needs to be ground heavy for stability and be able to hold the scope without tipping over when the arrow is extended a bit. To my surprise, the included LED ring light does the job perfectly. I've used fluorescent ring lights, which are utter crap, and halogen lights (which are the best), but for the price, LED ring lights do the job pretty well. I avoided halogen lamps because, firstly, they are incredibly expensive, blocks and light bulbs, and secondly, halogen lamps are very poorly made, two out of four do not work at my workplace. With the advent of the LED type, the lamp life should be much, much longer and it's not that hot (no fire hazard). In addition, the LED ring light has a dimmer so that the light intensity can be adjusted very conveniently. Light when working with shiny objects like metal.

Pros
  • A lot of positive emotions
Cons
  • Something different
