Fits and works perfectly with Shimano crank mounting bolts. It's hard plastic, as is the screw that tightens it. Simply clean and lubricate the axle and crank splines. Make sure the drive end is fully seated on the bearing cap. Lightly tapping the center of the guide side axle with a rubber mallet is sufficient. Install the crank making sure the clamp bolts are completely loose or removed. Use a cap tool and install the crank until it touches the bearing cup. Do not tighten beyond this point. Tighten the connecting bolts to specification and you're done. This tool works great under normal operating conditions.
