School Colors - Plastic Base - Poor Design

While it may look cool in the box, the set Reeves created on a poorly molded plastic base is not fit for real world use. Melody. Pan watercolors are in this giant plastic tray and you can't separate them. A large tray is a waste of space and difficult to put back in the box as the plastic bends and bends. Having this huge thing next to watercolors is impractical. When using tubes of watercolor paint, it is best to use a small separate bowl for mixing palettes. These are student quality watercolors which means a lower pigment load which allows the product to be sold at a lower price. I didn't notice any haze when mixing colors thoroughly, which sometimes happens with student colors. More importantly, they are transparent or faintly colored due to the low pigment load. However, when buying school class paints, you should already know this and make a situational decision. It has some watercolor pencils, an eraser, and some decent brushes. The bottom line is that you can build your own standalone sets, even Reeves-branded if you want, and not get stuck in that giant, flimsy plastic shell. You need more paper. So if you buy it as a gift, add a decent watercolor paper pad to the gift at the same time. The product is well suited for student paints, hence my rating of 4 stars = I like it.
