Review on 💦 Stay Hydrated and Healthy with PUR Water Filter Pitcher Filtration System, 7 Cup, Clear/Blue by Molly Kaye

Received from Revain 3 days ago after much research based on feedback (everywhere!) about the jug lid falling off. I only wanted pure as our old one was completely dead and they filter best. I ended up buying the Basic 7 cup as I didn't want the unnecessary hassle of the flashing warning light that changes the filter every time I fill up with water. The BASIC model has a removable guide to replace the adhesive paper. First I bought the red 7 cup model at my local supermarket to check out the lid myself. The red cover was tight, but had another design problem: the red water tank had a long, solid sleeve that covered the entire filter, making it impossible to grab (tighten) the filter from underneath: BIG Flaw. Returned and bought this one. Yes, the lid could be tighter, but otherwise everything is fine. I used a thin blue rubber band from the small protrusion of the lid (under the thumb hole) near the top of the handle, around the jug and under the clear spout: no problem with the lid! Everything works fine and we're glad we bought it, but WARNING: Pur's customer support is terrible; denied that there were problems with the loose lid which is very well documented on several pages) during my 2 pre-purchase inquiries I saw myself with blue/clear jugs. Never had a problem with water spills/cap and spout as we always wait for the water to drain from the reservoir/filter into the jug. Never (in 15 years!) had a problem with a clogged or slow filter as we follow the filter prep instructions. Both types of Pur filters, traditional and lead-free, are suitable for this jug: the trade-off is that lead-free filters have fewer other contaminants. One star deducted because mfg should have done better with the (red) jug design and blue jug lid and the friendly and helpful staff at CS.
